Lip Smackers
In 1973, Bonne Bell introduced a flavored lip gloss named "Lip Smackers". The first flavor created was strawberry.
Lip Smackers comes in flavors such as fruit, candy, or soda pop. Some varieties are tinted, while others include glitter.
There are now other variations known as Lip D'Votion and Lip Lix (with added color).
Cultural references
In the movie Napoleon Dynamite, Summer Wheatley promises a "glitter Bonne Bell dispenser in all the girls' restrooms" in her bid for student body presidency.
Lip Smackers is mentioned by Fez in an episode of That '70s Show 'Vanstock'. In the season 2 episode, he rifles through Jackie's belongings and pulls out a sparkle tube.
